You don’t need to have a web page to be included. We have noticed that these dance schools have been increasing in Pennsylvania the last few years. Hopefully the trend will continue.
If you are considering an Irish Step Dancing class for your daughter or son it will be a much different experience from a regular dance class such as tap or ballet. There is a uniform (not so cheap) to buy and the steps are very unique from any other kind of dancing. There may be competitions to attend if your child wishes to move up in “rank” and get better. Even if your child doesn’t compete your child will have to practice a lot. As well you will need to buy soft shoes called Ghillies, and later hard shoes (which are not comfortable). There is a particular way to tie your Ghillies that you kind of learn in a crash-course fashion by questioning the other parents or kids.
Some schools only perform in shows and do not participate in competitions. You can call the school to find out or the website may say. It depends on the certification of the Irish dance teacher. It is a very proud talent for the kids and very unique.
