Pa. Local Irish-Celtic Bands
There is nothing quite like listening to an Irish band and hopefully drinking a few Guinness drafts, or your favorite Irish drink, while listening. Visiting these Irish or Celtic band websites will give you more information about them, where they play, who they are and their playing schedules.
The differences in many Irish tunes played by these bands may be subtle at times. There are many who say all the traditional Irish music sounds the same. Much of Celtic music is based on the same themes and styles. You will also notice that American bluegrass sounds very much like a lot of Celtic music. That is where bluegrass derived from.
The range of Irish or Celtic music is anywhere between two people with a harp and fiddle and a 5 or 6 piece band with drums, fiddles, accordions, guitars, flutes and didgeridoo. So the variety of music being played is exciting but you must listen for the subtle differences at times.

Hello, Celtic Pennsylvania!
Would it be possible to list our band among the other fine bands listed in the Central Pa Area of The Local Irish Celtic Band section?
Our band. MacAlum, is a Celtic band at its roots but our music can be considered anything but ordinarily traditional. Comprised of four gentlemen from Central Pennsylvania, our band plays a myriad of instruments (bagpipes, too) and are not only talented and professional musicians, but also great entertainers. We love to engage our audience with music; it is our primary goal that everyone leaves the establishment or venue feeling good! In between shows at festivals, we serenade the crowds near the vendor area to promote and prolong business activity there – and we enjoy every minute of it!
MacAlum is seasoned and well established, having played the local pub and the Ren Faire circuits in the eastern United States and Canada. You will not only receive a great family friendly stage or pub act with wonderful music and entertainment, but also a professional, reliable, talented quartet that shows up on time, gives 200% to the audience, and can transform into a piper and drummer, a juggling act, impromptu street theatre increasing foot traffic into the merchant quarter, or as an accompaniment to actors, dancers or other musicians.
We wish you the greatest continued success and may 2010 bring you much for which to be thankful. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sláinte Mhaith and kindest regards,
MacAlum Celtic Band
